Meat and Ordering FAQs

How do I place an order?

You can order through our Online Store.  Once you have selected your products and checkout, your delivery day will display at checkout.  If delivery isn't showing for your location, please email us at info@longlanefarms.ca

Where do you deliver and when?

Weekly delivery occurs in local areas (e.g., Arnprior, Burnstown, Calabogie, Renfrew, etc.). Some areas have monthly deliveries (e.g., Pembroke, Petawawa).

  • Every Friday - Arnprior, Burnstown, Calabogie, Fitzroy Harbour, Renfrew, White Lake
  • 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month - Kinburn, Carp, Stittsville, Kanata, Almonte, Carleton Place
  • 3rd Tuesday of the month - Eganville, Foymount, Golden Lake, Killaloe, Round Lake, Petawawa, Pembroke, Cobden, Forester's Falls, Beachburg

What if I’m not home for delivery?

You can leave a cooler out or indicate where you want your order left.  Orders will be delivered regardless if you are home, or have left a cooler out.  Once delivered, we are not responsible for damages to orders from weather or wildlife.

Why is my order packaged in a plastic bag, and not in a box with dry ice/ice packs?

We focus on local, direct-to-consumer delivery. Because we are delivering fresh and frozen products directly to your doorstep within a short window of time, we do not require dry ice or heavy insulated shipping boxes.

Using dry ice, gel packs, and disposable insulated liners significantly increases packaging waste and cost. That additional overhead ultimately gets passed on in the form of higher meat prices.

By delivering locally in reusable or minimal packaging, we’re able to:

  • Keep prices more accessible

  • Reduce excess packaging waste

  • Avoid unnecessary shipping materials

  • Maintain product quality within our controlled delivery window

Our meat remains frozen during transport, and we recommend bringing it inside promptly upon delivery or leaving a cooler if you won’t be home.

If we were shipping long-distance, the packaging would look different — but for local farm delivery, this system allows us to balance quality, cost, and practicality.

Are your animals hormone and antibiotic free?

Yes — we raise animals with care and avoid routine antibiotics and hormones. Animals are pasture-raised, with health and welfare as priorities.

Why are orders weighed after checkout?

Some items are sold by approximate weight. Once packed, your final total is adjusted before processing the card.

Why was my credit card charged less than my cart total?

Because the majority of our items have to be weighed after ordering, we have made the prices in our store on the higher end.

Credit card payments are put through manually - meaning - when you place your order and pay online, your card is authorized for your cart total.

Once items are weighed, your total is adjusted (typically less than your cart total), and then your card is charged. We cannot charge you more than what your card was authorized for.

How Can I Pay?

When checking out, you have the option to pay online with a credit card, by cash on delivery or by EMT.

Please note - if you have created AND signed into a Shop account, it will default your payment to the credit card linked to your account  You do not have to pay by credit card! Simply scroll down, and select “check out as guest”, and all payment options will be available.

I placed an order and selected to pay by EMT, why haven't I received a final invoice yet?

We totally get the frustration!  Because we have multiple delivery routes that occur only certain times of the month, we can only pack orders for the upcoming delivery day.  Finally invoices are typically sent out 1-2 days BEFORE your scheduled delivery date.
